One More Day

One more day....

Just for this morning I am going to step over the laundry and pick you up and take you to the park to play.

Just for this morning I will leave the dishes in the sink and let you teach me how to put that puzzle of yours together.

Just for this afternoon I will unplug the telephone, and keep the computer off, and sit with you in the backyard and blow bubbles.

Just for this afternoon I will not yell once, not even a tiny grumble when you scream and whine for the ice cream truck.

And I will buy you one if he comes by.

Just for this afternoon I won't worry about what you are going to be when you grow up, or second guess every decision I have made where you are concerned.

Just for this afternoon I will let you help me bake cookies and I won't stand over you trying to fix them.

Just for this afternoon I will take us to McDonald's and buy us both a Happy Meal so you can have both toys.

Just for this evening I will let you splash in the tub and not get angry.

Just for this evening I will let you stay up late while we sit on the porch and count all the stars.

Just for this evening I will snuggle beside you for hours and miss my favorite TV shows.

Just for this evening when I run my fingers through your hair as you pray, I will simply be grateful that God has given me the greatest gift ever given. I will think about the mothers and fathers who are searching for their missing children...the mothers and fathers who are visiting their children's graves instead of thier bedrooms.... and the mothers and fathers who are in hospital rooms watching their children suffer senselessly.

And when I kiss you good night I will hold you a little tighter, a little longer. It is then that I will thank God for you, and ask Him for nothing.....except one more day.

 He's my purpose.

Five Question Friday 5/27/11

1. Do you apologize to your kids?
Yes, when I need to. I don't apologize every time I discipline him though, only when I over react.. I'm only human!

2. What color are your nails right now?
My fingernails aren't painted. I know I am so boring but every time I paint them I just pick them off! My toes are french manicured with pink flowers :)

3. When you were growing up, how difficult was it to stay home sick? (As in did you have to vomit, or just say "I don't feel good"?)
Ha it depended on my moms mood that day! Sometimes I could just simply say I don't feel good and sometimes it would take being on my death bed.. It was either hit or miss!

4. When is the last time you bought a new comforter for your bed?
2 years ago when we bought our house! We had to do something with our Plain Jane bedroom. To this day we still don't have a bedroom set.. haha we're lame!!

5. Favorite websites?
http://damnyouautocorrect.com/

Seiously go look at it.. Its hilariously inappropriate! It had Dave and I both crying!! :)

Our new and improved life

Dave and I have been doing a lot of soul searching and have made some recent decisions in our lives and we're completely excited about it!! First off we've been having problems with Kyson's daycare so we decided to pull Kyson out of daycare (which is a HUGE chunk of change we'll be saving each month, Yay!!) and I'm quitting my job.. But before you start freaking out we've also decided to turn our back room into a mini salon!! I'm beyond stoked!! We've thought about it for a while now and its finally becoming our reality. I knew going into it that I would be losing some clients, but thats natural, most older women prefer the salon scene but luckily the majority of my clientele has agreed to follow me to my home! How did I get so lucky?! I seriously love my clients :)

Construction starts this weekend!! Has anyone else thought about working from home? I've been shopping for salon furniture and equipment and am surprised at how cheap everything is!! Score :)

Its 12:44  on thursday afternoon and I'm sitting here eating a wheat english muffin, YUM, and I'm watching my little Kyson play with his cars.. I can't help but want to brag about him for a minute :)
First off, meet Kyson:

5 weeks old

2 years old

He's growing up way too fast!! My two year old weighs 29 lbs and is about 35 inches tall.. He's going to be so tall, like his daddy! He's also smart. He knows how to count to ten, the alphabet, most body parts, animals, colors, and nursery rhymes!! I just love him. I'm so excited to be able to spend some quality one on one time with him :)

He had pictures taken

Who does he look like more Dave or me? Either way he is just soo cute!! Especially when he runs up and gives me a big wet kiss on the lips or when he tells me he loves me. I melt every time!!
I love being a mommy :)

Five Question Friday

Every friday I'm doing Five Question Friday. I got the idea from this cute blog. I came across her blog and liked what I saw :) This is a way for all my cutie patootie friends to get to know me a little better!!

1. Do you and your spouse go to bed at the same time?
Yes! Its just not the same feeling when you go at seperate times. I love being able to cuddle up to my man for a few minutes before falling asleep.. And of course, our kiss goodnight!!

2. A question for the ladies...what kind of facial hair do you like on your man?
I like him a little scruffy!! But with him being in the Air Force he's not allowed to have facial hair.. Unless its a mustache and I'm not a fan! But a freshly shaven face is just as good :)

3. What's the worst vacation you've ever taken?
We've never taken a bad vacation.. But the only thing that comes to mind is when we went back home for a month and we got into a huge fight about nothing (really, its so stupid). It was the worst fight we've ever had! But we made up and moved forward. Never stay mad at each and NEVER go to bed angry!!

4. What's the first-ever blog you followed?
Denver.. She helped me start my blog and so obviously she was the first person I followed! She recently got married to Dave's good friend and we're so happy for them!

5. Do you enjoy amusement parks?
Enjoy them? Try crave them!! haha I can never get enough of amusement parks.. Although for a family vacation one year we went to California and went to six different amusement parks in a week!! It was so fun but by that last day I was ready for it to be over.. Lucky for me we're planning on doing it all over again next year :)

I hope to get to know each and every one of you a little better as well!!

This is me! I thought a picture of only me was appropriate for this blog about me :)

week in review

I had a great Mother's Day! Dave let me sleep in, he took care of Kyson, made me breakfast and gave me a massage! I got spoiled, as usual :) My in laws were in town and we had a lot of fun. Dave got to meet his new adopted brother Gavin (I met him last december) and it was fun getting to know him better. We welcomed the newest member of our family on May 7th. My brother Tim and his wife Brianne had a baby girl and she is precious! I can't get over her awesome hair! The only downside to this week was finding out I have to get knee surgery.. Boo.. :(

Lots of yummy food, Games, the flight line, shopping, and of course a ton of pictures!!

FOOD

We ate at Johnny Carinos, they have the best homemade Cream Soda!! We ate here the night of our wedding.. Everyone is starving after a long day of tying the knot!! ;)

GAMES
We played Just Dance 2 which is always hilarious! I think I get a better ab work out watching cause I laugh so hard!! I couldn't dance cause of my knee.. :( Dave really knows how to put on a show :) And we played lots of card games, my favorite is Skip Bo.

FLIGHT LINE

The famous B-1! We took pictures even though we weren't supposed too..

I didn't take pictures of us shopping, obviously! But we did get some real pretty pictures of the sunset yesterday :)

Gorgeous right?!

I'm a sucker for sunsets :)

So much for being debt free..

Dave and I welcomed the newest member to our family yesterday. We bought a new truck and Dave is on cloud 9!! He loves it! And it wasn't easy to find.. Dave refused to settle for anything less than exactly what he wanted, of course. He's so spoiled :) We found it, test drove it, and got our loan while battling a screaming toddler. I'm pretty sure every salesman in the building was bringing him toys to try and cheer him up.. I think its safe to say that they never want to see us again for that reason :) This truck has so much to offer like, OnStar (which is freaking awesome), its own phone number, keyless entry, and we bought it with only 4 miles on it!! We got it for an amazing price too! About $10,000 off!! Just one of the many perks for being in the military :) Then we changed insurance companies and found out Allstate was screwing us over! Figures!! Its not often you buy a brand new truck and your monthly insurance payment drops $100.. Good idea it was buying a new truck :) Buying a car is always an exciting yet scary thing. I've purchased a car on my own before so I knew what to expect but Dave was just so excited it was cute! My car has been paid off for almost a year now so I'm not too excited about having a new car payment but we needed a new truck, seriously! Dave's old truck was on its last stretch of life... barely! I hated that thing, it was such an eye soar! But thanks to Dave Ramsey we'll have it paid off in no time!!

Well, here it is!!

2011 Chevy Silverado Texas Edition
So nice :)
Dave had to give his new baby a hug!! I think I may have been replaced..

Time flies when you're having fun!

A lot of people have been asking me lately what Dave and I do for fun and how we keep that spark in our marriage alive! There are a lot of things we do but the main thing is simple:
have fun with each other!!
Whether you're broke or have all the money in the world, its important to have date nights even if its just cuddling up on the couch and watching a movie together! We are such a random, spontaneous couple and it works for us. We love making each other laugh even if it means making a fool of ourselves :) We love to "battle"... For example:

We battle with brownie batter

We battle with silly string

We even battle at Just Dance 2

We also do our date nights! Sometimes we get a babysitter so we can have our alone time and sometimes we do a family date night! Kyson is my everything, I love him to death but sometimes you need to let a friend help you out so you can have some romance :)

Examples of date nights:

The zoo

The park

Movie night at home

Miniture golf/bowling

Going out to eat

One of our all time favorite things to do is going to the Drive In!! Back in the day there were over 4,000 drive in theaters and today there are only about 400!! So sad. Abilene is lucky enough to have one and we love it! Saturday night we went and saw Rio. It was a cute movie and all but it was a little on the boring side! I about fell asleep..

 My cute family!

We take a lot of pictures!!

Dave's favorite "date"

He loves my gun! Yes its my gun!! :)

We definitely know how to have fun, even if it is free!! We like free :) One more thing about keeping that spark alive... Spice things up in the bedroom, to be blunt! Hahaha.. but seriously every husband likes hot sex! (am I even aloud to put this on here? Whatever you asked and you recieved my advice) Ladies dress up! Every girl knows that lingerie is fun :) It keeps you close to each other to be able to share that.. Sorry I had to put that :)
