Sea World 2015

I have loved Sea World since I was a kid! Who doesn't love going to Sea World, ya know besides PETA? Ha! We took the kids to Sea World in San Antonio for the day and it just happened to be Military Day so we totally got in F R E E of charge. Fist bump anyone? It was Kyson's second time and Presley's first. Kyson was in such a bad mood though. He kept saying things like, "I don't know how to have fun." and "I don't think I can smile." oh it was so irritating but I really didn't want his attitude to ruin my time there. He eventually got over his unhappiness and ended having a blast! Presley didn't care about the animals, she just wanted to run around. Typical. Our first stop was to the Azul show. Dave and I loved it last time we were there and it's still our favorite show. There are some seriously talented people in this world! We walked around, watched some more shows, rode some rides, shopped and ate crappy food that was oh so delicious! Presley went on her first thrill ride and it was freakin' cute to watch. Even though she could barely see over the bar she had so much fun!

I have this weird fascination with flamingos. Every time I see them I have to take a picture.

Ha the excitement on their faces is priceless. Ha!

And.... she's out!

We were all so exhausted once we left. So exhausted that we went straight to dinner! Big mistake. Presley was so cranky! We did discover how much she loves ranch though. Especially slurping it through a straw. #yuck Whatever keeps you happy, kid.

We went back to the hotel and went swimming, vegged out and just relaxed the rest of the day.
It was fun San Antonio! Can't wait until next time.

The Alamo

We did the whole touristy thing while in SA. We hit up The Alamo, Riverwalk and Sea World. It was so fun and so exhausting! What are vacations for am I right? It was my in laws first time going and since Dave and I have been before we played tour guide and we were awful at it! We got lost more than once, didn't know what the heck we were talking about and ditched them on more than one occasion. Oops! But we had fun and we made friends with not one but two squirrels! They let us feed them out of our hands even though we weren't supposed to. We're rebels! This day was spent at the Alamo/Riverwalk and even though I didn't take a single picture (these were all taken by my niece. Thanks Tayle!) we had such a fun time. I laugh constantly when I'm with my in laws. They're the funniest people! Dave and I love history so visiting places like this is so fun for us.

I'm not really sure where my butt disappeared too in this first picture? Maybe I should do more squats..
My feet were tired and Dave didn't want to push.. This was the result!

I definitely think San Antonio should be on everyone's travel list. It's such a neat city with so much to do! We love visiting!

San Antonio

We went to San Antonio for a few days for my brother in law's Basic Training graduation. We had so much fun even though the humidity about killed us. The drive to SA was amazing. The kids slept the entire time and the drive was gorgeous! Fields and fields of wild flowers covered both sides of the road. THE ENTIRE WAY! It was magical! So gorgeous! When we got there, we immediately went and visited Brandon. It was so weird seeing him in uniform for the first time. Let me just say this, Basic Training has changed immensely since Dave went through. Seriously, it's almost embarrassing how pampered they are these days. They're not allowed to do push-ups? Because it's too hot? REALLY!? Brandon was telling us all about how easy it is haha. I could go on and on about it but I won't. Anyway, we went through some military museums, did some shopping, ate some food and spent time with family who was also there supporting him. The next day we went to his actual graduation. It was kind of neat seeing one since I wasn't there for Dave's. We were crammed into the stands with two tired and restless kids who ended up dumping a bottle of water all over the poor guy sitting in front of us. I'm sure he didn't mind too much since it was so hot! You're welcome, sir. We took some pictures, met up for lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings and then went back to the hotel and did some swimming. We did a lot of swimming while we were there. It's always fun escaping reality and going on a little getaway. We love San Antonio and always have the best time there.
Part two coming up next!

Congrats Brandon, you'll make a great Airman!

celebrating our freedom

We had a pretty laid back 4th of July. We grilled up some pineapple pork chops made some crock pot bbq baked beans and snacked on some festive snacks but other than that? It was pretty low key. Dave was voluntold he would be the "shop chief" of mid shift (graveyard shift) a few months ago so he's on a completely different schedule than us. Sleep all day, work all night. It's been awful!! So we do the best we can with what little time and energy he has with us. So we took a family nap, I baked and cooked all morning and we just relaxed all day. I would have loved to get out on do some fun outdoorsy things but I knew Dave was completely exhausted and needed his rest. The food was delish and the nap was pretty amazing so I'm not complaining too much! :)
We did a tiny photo shoot to show off the kids cute 'merica outfits. Ha it was a disaster. But such is life with a wannabe teenager and a toddler in full force! Fireworks were banned within city limits and even the city passed on putting on a fireworks show this year so we missed out on the fireworks. I was totally bummed but we made up for it with a Back to the Future marathon ha.

I hope everyone had a fun and safe holiday! We are so thankful for those who fight to protect our freedoms. We will forever be in your debt! Home of the free because of the brave!

Father's Day 2015

I know I'm way behind on updating this blog, trust me I have so much too blog about and no time to do it! I'm updating way out of order but I'm doing the best I can. Ha!
So this year for Father's Day, Dave informed me that he wanted a nice watch, the day before FD!! So we went looking and didn't find anything he liked. Our town has the worst shopping! So we looked online and still couldn't find anything he liked that was in regs (military!). So here we are a few later and I still owe him a watch. We're just waiting for the watch to find us at this point! Anyways, so Dave didn't actually get a Father's Day gift, yet! But I did spoil him through his belly. I made some apple turnovers for breakfast (YUM!!) that turned out so amazing! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. We spent the day napping, watching movies and doing absolutely nothing, per Dave's request. I did talk him into a few pictures, just for social media. haha you're welcome! Dave had to work Father's Day night so we only got half a day with him. It was a great day nonetheless!

This is how Presley felt about taking pictures! What a snot. See what I did there? :)

Happy Father's Day, Dave!
