everything christmas

Since Dave and I got married we celebrated our Christmas's like we did growing up, with our families traditions! And even though we enjoy those traditions we wanted to start our own this year and do things our way! So we took the kids to see Santa for the first time, for both of them! I know, Kyson's almost five years old and he's just now meeting Santa! Kyson did so well! If you know Kyson well you'll know that he has some social anxiety so getting him to talk to someone he doesn't know is a challenge. It was such a happy moment for me haha

Kyson's class had a Christmas party that we were invited too. It is so much fun have a child in school!! Watching him learn and come home with arts, crafts and assignments. It is seriously the cutest thing! Kyson loves learning and loves showing mee what he did in school every day.

On Christmas Eve we spent the day decorating cookies, making a felt Ginger Bread House, watching Christmas movies and enjoying our time together. We ordered pizza and watched It's a Wonderful Life! Great movie!! We opened up Christmas jammies that Dave's mom sends us every year. Kyson was dying to get a robe this year and that's exactly what he got. Nana did good! Presley looked adorable in hers and Dave and I loved ours! Thanks Shelly!

Christmas Eve night was awful! Kyson has been sick for almost two whole months! And that night was no exception! Kyson was up every single hour coughing and sweating and he just didn't feel good. I was up all night taking care of him. I finally fell asleep on Kyson's bed and literally one hour later Dave came in and woke us up to start Christmas! I wasn't excited to wake up and neither was Kyson. We were exhausted! Before we even left the room we took Kyson's temperature which was 101.3 so we gave him some medicine, let it kick in and then we went out to see what Santa brought! Even though Kyson felt like junk, he was still so excited. He handled it like a champ! We opened up stockings and while the kids were playing we made my Mom's homemade recipe of Pull Aparts/ Sticky Buns/ Monkey Bread whatever it is you call it! We call them Pull Aparts and they were delicious! Once we ate breakfast we opened up the rest of the presents! We were so spoiled! I know I say this every year but Christmas is so much better with kids! We spent the day playing with toys, munching on food, watching movies, and putting batteries in everything haha. That night Kyson had a temperature of 103!! We were so close to taking him to the ER. We gave him some more medicine and decided to wait to see if it helped. It did, thank goodness! Overall it was a great Christmas, sick child and all! He's still sick but doing better. My parents think we need to have tests run on him. That scares me!

It was a great Christmas!

Thanksgiving

I know, this post is way late but having two kids now is really time consuming! We celebrated Thanksgiving the weekend before the actual holiday. We had a bunch of family in town for Presley's Blessing so we decided to just do it then. My mom and I went shopping and had some quality one on one time together that we rarely get these days. We talked about having multiple kids and all the differences there are between having one kid and two kids. It was very heartwarming, something that I was really needing! But I'll share my thoughts on that another time!

We had our Thanksgiving the Saturday before, on Presley's Blessing day. We woke up early to start cooking, did the blessing, and just spent time with family on that special day. I love the feeling of warmth and joy on Thanksgiving. I love the smells, the atmosphere and obviously the food! It was such a great day and I'm so happy that we were able to spend it with family, especially since we live so far away from any of our family. It's rare when we get to spend holidays with them.
Because our house is so tiny all the kids had to sit on the floor in the kitchen! And they all look thrilled!

We hate our house, but we love Thanksgiving! Ha

We matched! And it wasn't on purpose.

An outfit change later, and some turkey enzymes and we were out like a light!

So on the actual Thanksgiving holiday, our family had already went back to their homes and we still wanted to do something! But none of us were up for cooking another meal! So we decided to go out for a Thanksgiving meal at a restaurant. When Dave had just barely joined the Air Force he spent one of his Thanksgivings away from family, besides his mom who flew out to be with him, so they spent Thanksgiving at Cracker Barrel. So we decided to keep "tradition" alive that's where we would spend it. Ha it was... interesting! Four adults and four kids crammed into a corner table, feeding Presley right there at the table next to the kitchen! It went exactly how we thought it would go! BUt still so much fun and a memory I'll have forever. Presley's first Thanksgiving... at Cracker Barrel! Ha!

Kyson's on this kick where he either refuses to take a picture or likes to be silly in the picture. The kid wont take a good picture! Here's what we go through every single time we try to get a good family picture.

We finally gave up and tried again outside!

It was fun doing something different for Thanksgiving but I think we'll stick with tradition next year!

Presley: 2 months old

Can you believe my baby girl is already 2 months old!?
(She'll be 3 months in ten days, ahhh!)

-Presley now weighs 10 pounds (44th percentile). She's 23 inches long (79th percentile) and her head is 15 inches (55th percentile)! She's growing too fast!!
-She loves to be upright! If she's not the center of attention then she's not happy.
-She's so close to giggling! I can't wait for that moment!
-She survived her first cold this month. All four of us had bronchitis/pneumonia at the same time. She handled it like a champ, projectile vomiting and all!
-She quit sleeping! This girl refuses to sleep. EVER! She used to sleep for hours at a time and now all of the sudden she's too good for sleep. Mommy and the bags under my eyes don't approve of her party girl lifestyle!
-She's discovered her tongue and wants to lick everything in sight! It's the sweetest thing!
-Her hair is officially starting to fall out. My poor bald baby girl!
-She's very talkative and loves to be talked too!
We absolutely love and adore our happy baby girl!

Product Review: Contrast Leather Leggings

These leggings are so fun! I'm seriously so obsessed with them! They're so comfortable, fit perfectly, and the best part? They're machine washable! It's fun to get all dolled up every once in a while and these leggings make me feel extra pretty. Is that dumb? Haha but it's true! I wore them to a Christmas Party with this sequin top and I got a lot of compliments! Sequins and leather are perfect for a party right? Right!
I got the leggings from my favorite boutique located in Utah. Since I live in Texas I ordered them online. I've ordered so many things from this boutique. I'm pretty much in love with everything they sell!! So check out their website.

Presley's 1 month photos

When Kyson was born, Pinterest and Instagram weren't even alive yet (at least I don't think?). So doing fun newborn photo sessions was something I never even thought about doing. I'm just not the creative type! So when I found out I was pregnant with Presley I wanted to go all out and have as much fun with pregnancy as I possibly could. And now that she's here I want the fun to continue. So I had some newborn pictures taken (at a month old) and I'm so happy with the results! I can't believe how time consuming newborn pictures take! Whew!
Here are just a few of my favorites.

I'm in love with this girl!
I feel very lucky to have given birth to the worlds cutest baby that's ever been on this earth. Ever!

Presley's Blessing Day

Last weekend, November 23rd Presley was blessed! I'm sure every religion has their own special blessings/baptisms traditions whatever for new baby's, but there's just something so special about an LDS baby blessing. Maybe it's just because I've been LDS my entire life! We had a private blessing with Kyson and loved it so much that we did the same with Presley. A bunch of family came in to town to be here for it and participate in the blessing and it was just so special. Dave did an excellent job blessing our baby girl. He got choked up during the blessing which made me choke up! I am so thankful to have a husband who holds the Priesthood.

The best family picture we could get. Kyson has decided he doesn't like taking pictures anymore.

After the blessing was finished and all the pictures were taken we celebrated Thanksgiving a little early. Family was in town so why not? My mom cooked the most delicious Thanksgiving meal EVER in my tiny kitchen. What better way to celebrate our daughters blessing then giving thanks around a table full of yummy food with family? Ha! We had so much fun that I didn't take any pictures!
It was such a great day and my Presley looked gorgeous in her blessing dress! I am so thankful for my family who traveled out to be there with us for this special day. Presley is so loved!!
