a very long post about Halloween Spirit!

With tomorrow being Halloween I thought it was time for a festive post. I have had so much fun this last week participating in multiple Halloween get togethers! But first I'm going to take a walk down memory lane and share past Halloween costumes :)

This year I had two costumes. Day one I was 80's Barbie. And day two I was baseball Barbie! But according to everyone I know I'm Barbie every day... Must be the hair :)

I love dressing up for Halloween (ok I love dressing up no matter what it is) Going to a school full of girls is always so much fun on Halloween! This is why:

Pumpkin guts gross me the freak out!! But I toughened up and carved a pumpkin anyways.. Be very proud of me! Does anyone else think that carving pumpkins is hard work? Holy crap! My hands got a workout from it!! Totally burned calories :)

It's World Series season!! I am loving baseball right now. Watching the Rangers every time they're on! All week I've planned my days out around the games.. Haha weird right? Especially for a girl :)

I've been to a bunch of Rangers baseball games and this is me sharing those fun times!

I am excited to be guest posting for Denise today! 

She is the sweetest, cutest, and I love her blog!

I was actually really close to meeting her...a couple of weeks ago at a Blogger Meet-up but wasn't able to...so I was/am bummed. Maybe someday? I hope so! :)

Anyways, if you are wondering who I am, I'm Ashley from Sloanbook!

I blog about my husband and I and our adventures in Colorado.
We just barely moved to Colorado this summer after both graduating from BYU in April!
Oh, and we have a sassy long-haired chihuahua named Katinka! Here she is!

Moving on. Denise asked me to blog about a favorite vacation! Well I love all vacations we have gone on so I can't say one is a favorite...but I will tell you a little about a Scandinavian cruise we went on last summer! We vacationed on one of the ships of Celebrity Cruises to Holland, Denmark, Estonia, Russia, Finland, Sweden, and Germany!
I will tell you about some of my favorite parts of the trip, of course accompanied by pictures :)
1) Dressing up for 3 course dinners followed by various shows. I wish we could get dressed up and go to shows everyday! How fun is that? Comedians, dancers, singers, musicians, aerialists, etc...

2) Playing a fun archery game in Tallinn, Estonia! I made it to the semi-finals and then Kevin won and got his score on the 'high score board' of course with his name and country! USA baby!

3) Wandering the streets in Amsterdam, Holland! It is such a pretty city! But beware of bicyclists! Some of them just fly down the streets and if you don't watch out you can get hit! My brothers kept having to be saved by my dad.
Also we went to the ANNE FRANK ANNEX here - where Anne Frank really hid! That was a neat experience!

4) Hot sweaty train rides from Warnemunde to Berlin, Germany...ok that wasn't so awesome. But the food is! I LOVE GERMANY and their food! Who is a fan of German chocolate?

5) Trying to climb the Berlin Wall. Enough said ha.

6) Pretending to do Russian Folk Dance outside of the "Spilled Blood" church in Saint Petersburg, Russia! SO GORGEOUS!
 
And...cute monkeys outside of the church...I wanted to play with them!

I loved this trip because of the people I was with and the fun places we went to!

What is your favorite vacation and why?

If you haven't seen the new Footloose you are truly missing out!

I went last minute with my girl Chelsea about a week ago. She went kicking and screaming, but she ended up thanking me for taking her. She Loved it!!

I remember watching the original one a long time ago and loving it as well. I've always really liked remake movies and songs. A lot of people don't but I do :)

Plus Julianne Hough was in it and who doesn't love watching her dance?? And Blake Shelton sang the Footloose song. So good!! I will be buying it on Blu Ray when it comes out :)

You will leave the movie dancing in the parking lot!! Trust me, we did :)

Temples.

As most of you know I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints aka Mormons. I love my religion and have Faith in Jesus Christ. Today in church we learned about Temples and it got me thinking of the many Temples I have visited, whether the Temple grounds or entering the Temple. I wish I had a picture of every Temple I've been to in my life but I'm only human, and I don't. I've decided to take a picture in front of every Temple I visit from here on out!! Go me :)

This week has been especially difficult for me to grasp. Kyson has Croup! Poor baby. But he also is almost completely potty trained and he knows the entire alphabet and sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to me....

I am one proud mama but I'm dying inside being so far away from him! Dave got sick and ended up in the E.R. and a friend of ours had to watch Kyson. I should have been there to take care of my son. What am I doing? I miss him, both of them! I miss having someone there by my side, every day. I miss having someone to talk to about my day and to get hugs and kisses from. I miss being intimate and cooking dinner. I miss my job and my house. I miss my life!

So how come I can't get myself to go back to Texas?

I've been going to counseling for a few weeks now and I don't feel like I'm getting anywhere with it. It's really discouraging!

But at the end of the day, I miss Dave!!

First things first!

Some of you awesome poeple have my button on your blogs. Well, the lovely Taylor from The Presuttis informed me that my button wasn't working.. So naturally I went into detective mode and tried figuring it out.. I couldn't figure it out! So.. I just made new ones! So if you want my button on your blog to actually work, you've gotta delete the old one and put a new and improved one up. I know such a pain right?

One of my besties, Chelsea and I (along with a few other people) went to karaoke night! Oh. My. Gosh. Talk about a  good time! I can't believe how hard I was laughing the entire night! Some singers were amazing and some.. well... we just wont talk about them! Ha!! Chelsea on the other hand....

...sang Baby Got Back! And she KILLED it!! I love this girl :)

I saw a few people from my high school days and it was fun catching up with them! Meeting new friends was definitely a high light of the night.

... That is NOT my beer.. I don't drink! Just thought I'd clarify :)

My Mom and I went over to my brother and his wife's house to play a night of games. It was the best idea! I'm so lost without Kyson so I held baby Jayci almost the entire night. Isn't she a doll?? It is so easy to laugh until you cry when being around my brother, he is freakin' hilarious! And we didn't eat a few candy bars... We ate almost an entire box full! We're fat kids :)

After playing Apples to Apples those green cards are the ones that describe me.. So they say :)

I am the champion when it comes to games! Maybe its luck maybe its skill.. I don't know or care, but I win every time! Ha!! I just love game nights. Can I hear an AMEN?!

my very first blate & my pinterest

This last week was a cold, rainy, wet one. And it made me rethink my want for autumn..

On the bright side I had my very first blate with Courtney from Eric and Courtney. Ok so we hung out three times so does that make it a legit friendship?

I think so!! :)

I was so happy to finally meet her and we did A LOT of talking! We're good at that :)

Day 1: Pasta Factory.

Not a single picture was taken (so sad). We got kicked out of the restaurant for staying too late. 

30 minutes too late!

Day 2: We got frozen yogurt on a freezing cold night! We didn't think that one out very well..
We drew all over their wall and loved every second of it! It's not very often you get to draw on a wall in a frozen yogurt joint.

Day 3: We could not figure out what to do.. So we made dinner at my house, played games and watched a movie... Well a movie was on but we just talked through the whole thing! We both bought The Lion King! We each bought a "different version" but cannot for the life of us figure out what the difference between them are.. Other then price and packaging! Haha I love us :)

It was so fun getting to know you Courtney! I can't wait to do this again :)
