Reminder: This is your last chance to get your questions to ask Dave and I for our Q & A post. The questions can be anything, they don't have to be personal at all! Fun questions are a lot of fun :)
A few weeks ago I was feeling crafty. I did a couple projects that I've seen on Pinterest that apparently everyone else already has, so this may not be very exciting for you, but it's exciting for me ha! First I made a dry erase board/picture frame thingy. I don't really know the actual name for it. It took all of ten minutes to make. Super quick, super easy!
I went to Hobby Lobby, picked up the frame, some scrapbook paper, and some stick-on letters and made this gem. I love Hobby Lobby because it seems like everything is always 50% off. Dave and I have had so much fun leaving little notes for each other. Every morning I wake up to the sweetest notes from him and he comes home from work to the sweetest notes from me. We're just so sweet!
The second project I did was a homemade chalkboard. This one was such a headache to make but so worth it.
The mirror is from Hobby Lobby, I got it on clearance and we grabbed the Krylon chalkboard spray paint and the red spray paint for the frame (originally white). We got home and Dave helped me take it apart and do all the painting. We let it dry for a day, hung it and tried drawing all over it. The only problem was, the chalk didn't work! We tried breaking it in, cleaning it everything and still nothing. So I did some research and found that most people have problems with the Krylon spray paint. So I scurried on over to the Home Depot and bough the Rust Oleum Chalkboard Spray Paint. It works much better!! A friend of mine suggested a certain type of chalk that shows up so vibrantly, as you can see. I've had fun drawing pictures and writing out quotes on it but I forgot just how much I hate the sound of chalk on a chalkboard.
Oh well!
