road trip to dallas
We spent the weekend in Dallas over the weekend. Apparently we go there a lot. We love Dallas and it's only a 2-3 hour drive to get there so it's a real easy getaway for us. The kids do great on the road so we try and go as often as we can. I'm thinking we need to visit a new city though. Maybe Austin or Houston. Or South Padre? Decisions, decisions. Anyway, we spent our time visiting the Dallas Arboretum, which we do every time we go to Dallas! They always have the prettiest, funnest events going on. They had a pretty extravagant pumpkin patch that I was dying to see so I was pretty excited about going. And the weather was pretty perfect, a bit chilly but really not too bad.
haha Kyson's little head.
So sorry for the zillions of pictures but we took so many good ones!! This isn't even half of them haha. You can say I was camera happy.. We had the best time, as always at the Dallas Arboretum! It's my favorite place on Earth! Dave tummy decided we were done at the gardens so we headed back to Arlington for dinner. We indulged at the Cheesecake Factory, even though we had to wait for 40 minutes with two cranky kids. We did learn that Presley loves their wheat bread. But who doesn't?! I got the Lemon Herb Chicken and the most amazing slice of cheesecake ever. I get the same thing every time and can never remember the name of it! It had reeses, butterfinger, caramel, peanut butter and whipped cream on it. HEAVEN!! After we ate we hit up Grapevine Mills for some shopping! You guys, this mall is so big and we spent so much time there and I literally walked out of there with one thing. It was a top I had been searching for forever so it was totally worth it but really? One item?!
We always have the best time in Dallas! It's a city I recommend everyone visit!

Happy Halloween
This year we decided to do the Trunk or Treat that our church puts on every year. And every year it gets bigger and bigger. We ran out of candy within the first ten minutes of being there! Apparently we didn't go very prepared. It was actually pretty cold that night so Presley and I stayed at the car and handed out candy (for ten minutes!) while Dave and Kyson went to all the cars, before venturing out into the crowd. Our good friends and neighbors were just a few cars away from ours so we joked and laughed with them the rest of the night.
Kyson wanted to be a spooky vampire so bad. Dave did his makeup! Presley was the sweetest Snow White I've ever seen and she got so many compliments on her cute little costume. She discovered suckers and just wanted to keep eating them. She loved them! And boy did the sugar rush kick in. She was cracking every one up!! Kyson discovered that if he went back and forth between two cars they would keep giving him candy.. So that's what he did and people were getting a kick out of it! Smart boy, haha.
On our way home we stopped at Panda Express and as we were in the drive thru paying, Kyson rolled down his window and scared the lady working the window. Her reaction was priceless and Kyson was so proud of himself! We had such a fun night with friends. Now that moving is only about 8 months away I'm getting really sad that we're leaving such a great ward. We'll definitely miss spending Halloween here!
