Each year Dave and I make plans for Valentine's Day but we never celebrate on the actual day. Crowded restaurants just aren't my thing! So we celebrated on Saturday! But on Thursday I took Kyson to the store to pick out some Valentine's to take to school to hand out. I went to Target for a $3 box of Valentine's and left with a little more than I planned...
Oops... I guess my sweet tooth took over! For the record those Cherry M&M's are to die for!! I may or may not have killed the whole bag in one night.. They weren't even for me, Dave wanted them and he ate maybe a handful of them? Sorry babe!
Writing his name on his Valentine's. Angry Birds of course. The kids obsessed!

On Friday I sent Kyson to school with his bag full of Valentine's to hand out to all his classmates. Having a kid do all the same things I did growing up is seriously so fun! Exchanging Valentine's in school was one of my favorite things to do. He had so much fun exchanging them and I had so much fun watching him have fun! Dave came home with gorgeous flowers and chocolates and we watched movies all night long. Frozen for the third time, Captain Phillips, Lone Survivor (very hard movie to watch, holy crap!) and a few others. It was the best, I love movie nights at home!
Saturday was our Valentine's date night! We left the kids with their Aunt and cousins and we headed out. I was in the mood for some Italian food so I requested Olive Garden. It was a 30 minute wait that ended up being a five minute wait. Don't you love when that happens? In that five minutes of waiting we spent it sitting outside in the gorgeous weather taking crappy cell phone selfies, or 'cellfies' haha
Anyways dinner was good but the dessert was killer!! White Chocolate Raspberry Swirled Cheesecake with extra raspberry sauce and white chocolate chunks. Oh yeah, we wolfed it down in just a few bites. Our manners went out the window when they brought that cheesecake out to us! It was divine! After we went and did some shopping. Funny story, we were in Express and I was just walking along the wall looking at clothes and this guy was standing next to a tall rack of clothes waiting for his wife. Anyways I didn't see him until I was right next to him and it scared me so bad that I literally screamed in his face!! He started laughing, his wife was laughing, Dave was dying and I was laughing so hard I was crying! That poor man. haha anyways after shopping we went and did the most romantic thing possible for Valentine's Day.. We went grocery shopping! Ha! It's seriously a whole different experience shopping without kids! It wasn't exactly exciting but it was so great being able to do normal things together without battling kids. We went home and even though I was so not ready for our date to be over I missed my babies.
We had a great time and even though we don't get a lot of alone time, every time we do we definitely take advantage! I hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day, we sure did!!
XOXO
