we got our football on

Over the weekend we went to a college football game. It was perfect weather, great seats and not too crowded! Which was a good thing since we had a semi ornery child. He did steal the hearts of all the women around us though.
The game was a total blowout! I'm talking 76-13. Our team won, even though its not really our team at all. You see our town has three colleges and we would have rather gone to the other schools games but they weren't playing in our city that weekend.. So we went to this one! Still fun. And still lots of nasty junk food!
Ok, so every time we made a touchdown a group of half naked guys would run the length of the bleachers yelling and cheering. It was Hi-lar-i-ous!
haha we have creepers behind us on both sides!
His love for popcorn is out of this world!
I I had Dave take this picture just to get the girl next to me. Her outfit is rad!
Woo go McMurry!
Love this little boy :)
This was a game they were playing.. Dave would flick a piece of popcorn and try to make it in Kyson's mouth. Kyson was laughing SO hard! It made my heart happy :)

It was a good day!

birthday parties are fun

We took Kyson to a birthday party!
I'll let the pictures do the talking :)

This picture kills me every time hahaha
Kyson was not harmed in any way! :)
I didn't get a picture of it, but the grown men decided they wanted to go down the slide too.. but instead of sliding down they literally jumped off the top and cannon balled at the bottom.. It was beyond hilarious!!
I got completely drenched standing at the bottom! I have the men to thank for that ;)

that time we went to the fair

A couple weeks ago my parents came to Texas for a visit. We had a nice, relaxing week full of good food and even better company! I literally only took one picture, and it was on my phone!

Ignore the spots on it, it was a lighting effect app for instagram!
Anyways, the week was so fun and we were planning on taking them to the fair, but it got freakishly hot and my parents were a little freaked out by the West Nile breakout in West Texas.. So they wanted to stay indoors! Party poopers!!

After their visit we decided to take Kyson. He LOVES the Ferris Wheel and had been talking about it for a week straight, so we took him!

Beware, there are a lot of pictures starting now!

This kid about gave me a heart attack.. He is not afraid of heights AT ALL and loves hanging over the side of the Ferris Wheel!! I had a death grip on him. So scary!
His first year getting to go on rides by himself!
Kyson picked his own duck and got a toy. But while he was digging around in the bucket of toys he decided he wanted an American flag. I'm so proud of my patriotic 3 year old!
 Who doesn't love baby goats?
haha funniest thing to watch! (there's his flag :))

We were sad that we missed the rodeo's. We've lived in Texas for almost 5 years and still have never been to a Texas rodeo!! Next year..

my pinterest worthy bathroom

The hubs and I decided we needed to remodel our bathroom. When we first bought our house the first thing we did was replace the toilet. It grossed us out thinking about using an old toilet! Anyways, here we are three years later and still an old boring bathroom. So I told my husband that I wanted to finally remodel the poor room and he was going to do most of the work haha
Since Dave is an amazing handy man he was excited to start working!
The first thing we did was rip off the old baseboard. Guess what we found? Termites!!
One thing you future home owners need to know about buying an older house (ours was built in the 80's) is that no project will be an easy project. Every time we've replaced anything in our home, it's turned into a bigger than expected project because everything is getting old!

Anyways, so we got our house treated for termites (which is so NOT cheap!) and fixed (luckily for us it was very little damage and was an easy fix) and we were back on track with our remodel. A month later and about 100 trips to Lowe's we were finished! I got to decorate and loved every second and every dime spent! I think these pictures deserve to be floating around on Pinterest :)
Seriously though, pictures don't do it justice!

Before
Kyson doesn't even use that stool anymore... These are old pictures!

After
This chandelier made me squeal with excitement!

We painted
put up wainscotting/chair railing
replaced the baseboards
replaced the towel rods
new shower curtains
new rugs and towels
rewired the light switches and outlets
(and ended up replacing the circuit breakers thanks to my curling iron literally blowing up on me)
and added a chandelier

After we painted for some reason we went to bed without cleaning up, I guess we were just lazy that night ha! When I woke up the next morning Kyson had gotten a hold of the still wet paint brushes and went to town!! He painted the walls, the door, the bath tub, the cabinets, the floor and himself BLUE!! It was a nightmare and a pain to clean up! I literally was so mad that all I could do was laugh.. The kid got lucky and definitely got off easy on that one.

I love my new girly bathroom :)

Last chance to send me your email address before I make my little bloggy private!!

new hair

**Don't forget that my blog is going private in the coming weeks for various reasons and I would LOVE for everyone to send me your emails so I can invite you to tag along!!**

About a week ago I decided to chop off all my hair! A lot of hair came off and I wasn't sad one bit! I've had long hair for years and wanted a change.

I am loving it! Except now I want to go shorter ;)
I feel like a little soccer mom.
Everyone tells me I should be the one playing soccer ha!
